What do people make of this signed photo? When I first saw it I thought it was good, but having spent some time comparing with know exemplars, I'm not so sure anymore.
Keen to hear as many thoughts as possible, especially Pauline who seems to be well versed.
Great picture. The picture itself implies the forgery as well (the writing is clearly not hers) but the photo is of a costume test that wasn't used in the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, (too scandalous/skin showing), thus Marilyn would never have signed it as a photo to a fan as it would not have been supplied or sanctioned. This costume was replaced with the famous pink satin one.
I have seen this forger's hand before. They studied a little, but cannot execute.
Thank you Pauline for your insight. If you have any other examples of this forger, could you post a couple here so I can add them to my "no good" folder.
And please can you post a link to your blog that I read about on another thread, as that would help with the ongoing Marilyn education.
