(I did post this in Sports Forum, but although people were helpful with Mickey - there were no Babe Ruth experts that responded.)

Hi (again). I did as much research as I could on these two pictures. On the Babe, I looked at other inscribed letters and the *To* and *From* seem to be legit. Looked up numbers and the *4* and *5* look like his - the 7 is questionable. The C in Carl looks like other Cs he has done. Any opinions greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Kim

It just went over $1000 and 24 hours left. Pass. back to Furbies. That is where the real money is. This obscure site is shopgoodwill.com. They get all kinds of stuff - art, antiques. You name it they sell it - especially since covid. They sell a lot of crap - and fakes on there but sometimes amazing stuff. Like in about 12 minutes an auction ends for this gloves.jpg  and they are up to like $14. I love vintage but would have researched them more if I was going to bid. Just cool stuff that is sometimes cheap.

I don’t know that Goodwill is an “obscure site”. I’d also tell you that they specifically state items are unauthenticated, with no returns or exchanges. I’d be very confident that any autographs appearing as genuine are more than likely laser copies. I don’t know many people donating high dollar signatures to Goodwill. None of it smells right to me.

Agree. And most of theirs are not real. And the ones that have COAs are from people that you guys would not recommend. But the Babe Ruth - everything about his looked like his writing. Even Beckett said it would likely pass. Ya never know - kids go into their dead grandparents' house to clean things up and have no idea who Babe Ruth is. Just an old picture of a guy playing baseball. But, I am very thankful to you guys for all the advice and insight. Def not going to bid. BUT - if I sell some Furbies I am going to post an Eric/Ginger Baker/Jack Bruce that I would love to own!!

Trimmed as noted. Bummer. :(

It went for $6002!!! I wonder if Beckett did my authentication so fast because they had a run on this picture - lol.

Beckett has been quick lately on processing signature reviews, I've been receiving review opinions as quick as 40 minutes and usually within two hours. I'm wondering if they have amped up personnel to meet customer demand due to covid? I also have had thoughts if personnel would be running on items submitted for reviews.

What does that mean - running on items?

bidding or trying to buy items that a person had submitted for signature reviews, as in buying items out from under the customer.

I thought so!! I always wondered about that - that is why I submit a pic instead of a link and try to make sure it is not easily googled. Thanks!

Buying out from under a submittor is usually grounds for firing at reputable TPAs unless they were bidding before.

Bought an expensive signed drawing on Goodwill Auction 6 months ago. . Description stated that it was signed in ink. It turns out that the signature was a pre printed facsimile. Return it for a full refund.

I am glad they gave your money back!
