I agree - authentic. His 5 or 7 Autopen templates are "James" and this is not one of them.
Quite nice! It's similar to one I have.
This does bring up a point for me about Stewart's signature that I would be interested in hearing feedback on. I came across this one joint signed with Robert Mitchum from THE BIG SLEEP remake in 1978. It's from the Harvey Kuflik collection. Stewart's surname looks quite different here from the OP example but is probably signed in the same period as Apj26's. Any thoughts on this? Are both forms of "Stewart" from this period equally accepted?
The Kuflik collection is quite unquestionable, but this "Stewart" is irritating if not disturbing, especially the "t" at its end. The rest might be explainable with a rushed in-person signature.
In the Kuflik BIG SLEEP I like the flourish line beneath Stewart's name that he often added. Also, notice beneath the flourish line a small dot that he added as well...and he did this often on photos later in life. Most forgers, while adding the line, don't pick up on the little dot.
Here is something like the Kuflik which I take to be rushed IP - a lot of that collection was IP as I recall.
