Here is an interesting one.  It’s a print of a drawing that George supposedly made while he was in school.  I don’t know when the print was made or how many nor do I know when he signed it.  The signature is in pencil and looks early if it’s legit? Any thoughts?

Never heard of or seen it before. (And that's puzzling, as I've been a devoted fan since 1963.)

It needs further authoritative & extensive research - or it's a fugazi (fake).

I’m with you.  I also have been a fan for a long time and have never seen or heard of this artwork until now.  Agree more research is required.  What do you think of the signature?

Signature is not real.

I've seen George's early signature. That isn't it.

This is where some local knowledge comes in handy!

The view is of Stockport Market Place, from Castle Yard.  I know because Stockport is my hometown and the view is largely unchanged in 2021.

What would George Harrison be doing in Stockport as a schoolboy?  It is 40 miles from Liverpool.  A trip of that nature would have been highly unusual, and not cheap, for a working class family in the 1950s.

My guess is that this print was made by a local Stockport artist — perhaps even called George Harrison, but certainly sharing the initials GH — and some chancer has decided to pass it off as the work of a proto-Beatle.  Finding proof of the real artist may be difficult, but I’ll do a little research and check back in if I find anything.

Excellent and thanks for the information.  You may be close to the truth on this one. I would have thought that after 50 years of collecting I and others would have seen or know about artwork done by George especially if it was a print of said artwork.
