This is a photocopy of the signed item. I deal with an elderly gentleman who does not use a computer. He has collected since his childhood. He photocopies the autographs I am interested in and sends me the copies through the mail ( he is old school). This way I can do my own research and study before buying.

Not that it matters much, but I'm sorry I can't assist you any further. It's virtually impossible to give an informed opinion based on scans of poor photocopies of an item.

Twice now I've commented on a tight close-up of a signature. When I've raised a doubt about it, only then was an image of the whole piece put up which help puts the signature in context. After giving an opinion on your Christie it was only then revealed that there is a TPA letter that goes with it. I'm not sure why these things are only revealed after someone comments and raises a question about an item.

I also will not opine anymore. That Ruth I commented on - why hide the fact they were photocopies? I don't know what the point of all this was - maybe you mentioned it and I did not see it. You flooded this place like Venice. It was like a strange parade in which I will no longer march. You listed yourself as an Advanced Collector. With all respect, I truly can't imagine why.

I didn’t hide it …. Just didn’t think it mattered. I posted them for opinions on autographs. They aren’t for sale. I later posted the stock response about them being photocopies just to be clear or to eliminate ANY confusion.

Here is why it matters. If these images look and read the same to you I'd suggest a different hobby.

And this is a proper color scan by me. I have much larger scan as well. This kind of image allows one to read the surfaces and ink and a touch of depth - something not possible with a low res b/w photocopy.

There's not a limit to how much you can post. If there's too much from one person posted at once it's my job to say something to them but I haven't been around much for the last week.

I haven't read most of your discussions but the vast majority of members give their own honest opinions.

I just realized you posted about 100 items. That's a lot for one day, which is why many weren't commented on.

If I saw you were posting rough copies I would have told you to stop. Again, I wasn't around so you didn't know.

But a quality, accurate image is very important if you want quality opinions. Many forgeries can be identified from less but prints or good forgeries can be missed too easily.
