What price would this get selling private please
Hi ive joined a Queen facebook page also, but still unsure of real value. I understand collectors, shops want a bargain. But im undecided what to do with this autograph, is it better to hold on to. Will it really increase in value for my kids? Anyway some of you maybe on that page as well. This autograph was signed by the band Queen in january 1974 on a British airway flight from London to Australia as they must of been going to the Sunbury Concert in Victoria Australia. Please advice what youd do thanks in advance.

It is genuine and will grow in value. Especially being as early as 1974. Right now, you might be able to get around 3.5K USD or a bit more at auction but if you hold on to it, it'll grow a bit more each year and significantly more once Brian and Roger officially retire or (God forbid) go to the big gig in the sky. If you're looking for best value, I'd suggest holding on to it for a few more years.
Edit to add: 3.5 or a bit more via auction, but you will need to pay a % to the house for selling so the price you'd walk away with is less. How much, that depends on the house. If you find a collector that would do a direct sale, still 3.5 would be the typical price today and a smaller % of that would be deducted from PayPal or what have you. I'd still hold on to it to increase value if it were me.

Yes, i am Tracy the person it was signed for back in the day. Was 8 years old then. I appreciate your comments as mentioned im not a collector and needed advise by those who know a great deal about autographs. So it sounds like holding onto it and putting it safely away, might be the go for now. Can you suggest anyone in Australia who seals them? It was in an old leather bag, lucky it is in one piece still, living in the tropics. Thanks again :)

Here's something that kinda bugs me. I TOTALLY understand a person that isn't an autograph collector, that has a nice piece, coming on here and asking about it; whether that's about value, how to sell, etc. But I think...it should be limited to one post/one question. It baffles me that this person has two threads about this, and once she gets great advice on whether to hold on to it or not, and people that are willing to buy it directly from her, she then wants to know what auction house to sell from. It's like...come on, lady! You got good advice, now...do the rest of the work yourself. If an auction is the way you're going to go, you've been told a certain percentage will be going to them, so...look into what auction house would work best for you.

Josh, i find it hard people can be so rude, i thought it was a discussion page and being new on here i dont know how it got 2 threads as you say. Im happy if Administration takes one down as i dont know how this happened. I did reach out to a reputable auction house as advised in here and have now been informed someone is listing my item without permisdion and have no idea WHO. Have only posted on this site and a Facebook page. So being new this is abit scary, not knowing who to trust, being auctioneers or sellers. But i will tell you that this item is in my hands. So you should understand how i now feel towards knowing what to do with it.

Hi Tracy, Maybe it would be best for you to just hold onto this item for a while. Auction houses get a percentage of the sale from the seller and buyer. I’m not sure how much more it’s going to be worth down the road, prices do seesaw as was the case with Queen signed items, they were high when the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 2018 and have tapered off a bit since. You have a nice item and should do fine with it when you decide to sell it, whether it’s now or ten years from now. All the best, Bob

I think maybe i should now with what has just happened. Id really feel bad if someone is being scammed, surely theyd want proof. How does this even happen. Just goes to show some auction places are scammers too. Thanks to the genuine people, its must be a mine field out their for collectors. Thanks

Hi, ive since found out that autograph is safe, have been advised that maybe someone from this group or Facebook must of sent photos into them, to see if legit or something. Ive decided not to make any rash decisions for now and hold onto it abit longer. Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated.
