Speaking of volumes and the UACC, the latest Pen & Quill arrived and mentioned 2 Registered Dealers being removed from the program. I applaud the efforts of the ethics board regarding these removals and protecting the solid name of the UACC Registered Dealer program. While in a perfect world these dealers would be magically removed from the program overnight, it's a process.

Yes which ones are now removed? The web site is useless it never is up to date it just has the same stuff from years ago?
@Steve sorry for the late reply. I believe the 2 mentioned were AACS and Signature House. I know AACS was a Registered Dealer. I'm not sure if Signature House (Gil and Karen Griggs) was a RD or not but both were removed. Remember, the Pen & Quill is quarterly so some of you know this information as it is currently posted on the uacc.org
@Louie Useless??!! Didn't you just post a link to the Sinatra signature study? The website just underwent a phenomenal change over the past year. It's literally like night and day from where it was. There is an online community you can join and participate in, there are as you know, signature studies, there was a new Autograph Dealer Of the Year Award given out, the list goes on and on.

Yes one of the FEW things of value on there, its just old that everything still opens up with the old SK thing, I know AACS was cut a while ago its ashame it took so long and it takes people complaining on here to get something done, sadly I like it seems many dont look at the UACC like I once did which has really curbed my buying of autos lately.
Hi:
The UACC conducted an investigation and removed AACS from the RD program shortly after we received the FIRST FORMAL complaint. This means contacting us and specifically detailing the potential issue.
Occasionally we get emails along the lines of "Dealer X sucks!" or "dealer X is a crook!!!" When we follow up, we get no specifics or no response. This type of hit and run complaint typically has no credibility and does not get good results.
What people need to also understand is that we are a volunteer organization and do not see every chat board complaint. It's by pure chance that I ran across this thread about moviesmusicthings.
I think autograph collectors would benefit from the UACC policing their Registered Dealers more actively and systematically. Most are highly reputable, but a small percentage of RDs are definitely not.
In this particualr case, there appears to be a air of maliciousness.
The question that begs to be asked is, WHY would a UACC Dealer be selling an item (Billie Burke "Good Witch" photo) for $525, when he must know the last genuine one to appear on the market sold for over $15,000! ? And he has posted a "Wizard" Frank Morgan for buy now for $1800. The last one sold for over $11000. In addition to the obvious forged signatures, that "low balling" strategy is a dead give-a-way.
Not sure what you are driving at...
Is the "hard to believe" because they have an impressive inventory, or something else?
