This has zero chance of being authentic.

Taking the tribute band away. It's still fake. It's a hideous fake.

Two more Steffen thinks are authentic. Absolute disgrace. When it comes to marc Bolan's signature he doesn't have a clue.

The problem is that more of these will come on to the market.

What about the other autographs on those 2 photos, Mikex?

Mike, you are fully invested in being right here, and make it clear these and the OP are fake because you said so.

Are they fake? I don't know. I never paid attention to Bolan or T-Rex till you posted this discussion. But they certainly don't have the vague look of typical forgeries. They look spontaneous and natural. And you haven't pointed out genuine ones that a forger would have tried to copy. That's what forgers do.

Please make a case on these. One based on the autographs, not the position they're signed in, what they're signed on, or the pen used, unless what they're signed on didn't exist at the time.

Someone forged a Reagan autograph on the cover of the Ronald Reagan commemorative issue of Autograph Collector magazine. In that case, the item it was signed on figured in!

I couldn't do anything with the autographs, but the claim was made there were no small color photos from that period available to be signed and I think I just showed that there were.

Show me examples that resemble these.

Show other MB autographs where a Sharpie was used

Show me more signed postcard sized color photos

I still stand behind this statement 100%

UPDATE:

To get a fair spread of opinions i sent the OP photo to Roger Epperson and he said: Not authentic "

I also sent it to an UACC/AFTAL dealer who buys and sells more Bolan autographs than most. He said: Looks horrible nowhere even near to me"

The only person who thinks this junk is authentic is Steffen.

The man has no integrity and hasn't got a clue. I have no Idea why you hold ACOA in high esteem.

He knows it is fake, but he hasn't the balls to admit he is wrong.

All this just underlines everything I've said.

I think you’re going way overboard here. Justin appears to be one of the better TPAs with regard to acknowledging a mistake. Based on my experience, it’s the “big 3” that just doesn’t seem to care.

You haven't been privy to our conversation.

He has no intention of admitting he made a mistake with this garbage.

People haven't rushed to defend the photo because they know I'm right and Steffen made an error.

Mikex, I absolutely disagree. Justin Steffman has high integrity. It sounds like he's been engaging in a discussion with you on Bolan. Why would he do that if he didn't want to get a grasp of the issue?

Did he send you the other ACOA Bolans you posted? If I was in his position, I'd take in the info, images and arguments you'd give me, and discuss it with people I trust on Bolan.

ACOA generally has several people look at each autograph. He'll want their input.

It's absolutely fine to point out autographs that you think are mistakes here, and the TPA or dealer involved. But it's not fine to try to read his mind and report it as reality.

+1

I'm afraid the conservation got out of hand . My initial contact was to help with samples. Things didn't turn out that way. However, there is a truce. It was two strong personalities trading punches with no one giving grond. Not my intention.
