Yeah.   

I have an Abbott and Costello signed photograph from Heritage that has a full LOA accompanying it from them.  That's standard practice for them, apparently.

Here's what they put in the listing description for some other material they sell:

"Heritage believes the signature to be authentic, but know before bidding that no Certificate of Authenticity is provided."  I've only seen that disclaimer on material that looked sketchy to me.

Exactly, that is awful hypocrisy - WRIT LARGE. Caveat Emptor, indeed, and in my mind I believed they were one of the better outfits.

It makes no sense for an auction house to take responsibility for issuing COA's. By all means second that to a reputable 3rd-party authenticator - as I believe Gotta have R&R do, e.g. - but to do it yourself would be commercial suicide, I would have thought.
