John & Cynthia Lennon Depart for Rishikesh, India February 1968. George too!

Hi All,

Something new. John and Cynthia Lennon leaving for India to arrive on the 15th. There, several songs that would be placed on The White Album were written.  This vintage contact print shows John and Cynthia weaving through Heathrow.  The other shows John and George boarding. John and George were first in and last out of Sadie's. I was going to keep one and and give another to my brother but I saw the one posted down below and that is for me! My brother will get the two below. :-)

Both will go to my brother - this one is for me! :-)

Congrats! That’s a nice gift for your brother. I wonder where these were published.

Thank you. I don't know where they may have been published. I asked the other Mark and he had never seen them before either. It is possible not all were published. I assumed they would have family but as vintage contact prints I thought they were pretty special. I actually knew what they were showing :-) Seller never mentioned. My brother will flip! He loves The White Album.

Those were a great find!

Thank you Scott. They had not been listed before as far as I can tell and I don't see any of them online. I'm happy :-)

Your brother will be too lol.  Very nice of you.

I found this which is the closest from Bridgeman, and there are some Mirrorpix via Getty and some Aalamy taken at the location of the print I am keeping, but not the same images. The image below is just seconds from the one on the contact print, this being before the OP (see the floor). I can not find the photographer.

Yes, they are going into the lighter color flooring.  So, you do not know what photographer took them?   They are an amazing historical record.

Well, I will say "not yet" ;) It is encouraging Mark and Mark have not seen them before.

I agree - special. Any vintage contact prints would be cool, but this trip is really exciting to me.

Here is a link to an interesting article/website about this trip:

The Beatles in India

These arrived - much sharper than expected!
