I have looked at rr auctions prices and am really surprised at how low some of the prices for a signed copy of some of his quartets is

Some of those results are 15 years old but it isn't a particularly rare signature.

In that case I would recommend seeking some further info from the seller re provenance. While the signature looks okay - and I do mean "okay", not "terrific"- if someone has removed this from a book then it is...strange to say the least. It also impacts the value of the autograph quite a bit. In other words don't overpay for it.
