I have a set of Beatles autographs obtained in 1965 by my father.  He worked for the U.S. Immigration Service and met them while they were en route to the Bahamas to film sequences for the movie Help.  Authenticity is not an issue, but I have a problem.  In an effort to protect the signatures, my sister (they were obtained for her but she recently gifted them to me) partially laminated them (peel and affix laminate).  Does anyone know of a service that can remove this laminate without damaging the document.  I've read about DIY fixes (hair dryer, iron etc.) but am leery of trying them.  any Help would be appreciated (pun intended).

Yes, this is really a post about restoration.

But I'd agree on having them authenticated, preliminarily here.  I don't doubt the OP's father's story about his proximity to the Beatles, but so far there has been no description of the actual act of getting the signatures.  Only recently on here there was the person who bought a signed photo that had come from a crew member on one of these flights and it turned out to be a set of secretarial signatures distributed by their staff.

I was there when he brought them home.  I just wanted info on removing peel and stick laminate.

Once again, not relevant to my inquiry.  I really don't see the need to post the pictures I have of my father with the Beatles.  I was asking if anyone knew of a restoration service, nothing more.

My thinking was that it wouldn’t take much effort to verify that the signatures aren’t secretarial, and it could possibly save you a substantial amount of money.

+100 what is the downside?

It’s possibly hearing bad news versus possibly wasting money on restoration. What gets me is that it’s four sets. While they could still be real, that obviously increases the chance that Neil or Mal covered the request.

I have never heard of four sets. It sounds incredible!  SCANS!

I have consulted a professional who restores posters and papers.
There is no way to reverse or removed the laminate without destroying the contents on the paper.

Exactly. They are seriously compromised, even if authentic.  So many things were laminated in the 1970's...I have seen several Neil Armstrong's etc. A scan would indeed be nice to see to rule out the other Neil...

It is peel and stick adhesive which I know can be professionally removed.  I was asking if anyone knew of a company that did that.  In my research I have found several, but they are located outside the united  States.

What kind of paper are they on and what type of ink/pen?

Have you ever heard of a Beatles Butcher Cover?
