Thoughts on ebay seller "pengang"?
Hello,
Ebay seller pengang has an impressive-looking collection of reasonably-priced autographed 5x7s and 8x10s of old Hollywood stars.
I haven't found any negative reviews of the seller online. The seller does a nice job posting angled images showing the markings of the ink, and the signatures I've researched certainly look authentic. The seller does not offer COAs.

I can't imagine that they're ALL real, but I don't think that this is a major effort to sell forged autographs. But I'd love to get a second opinion from someone who knows more about this industry than I do.

I just found this. They refunded me the full price and told me to keep the following item which I believe, and some others don't, is a forgery. I could not believe they did not want it back. IIRC I sent all the "why" and so on to support my observations in my email. I would love other opinions.

This eBay seller exhibits a mixed reputation. While some of his autographs are genuine, others are counterfeit. He is particularly known for purchasing other listings at reasonable prices and reselling them for triple or quadruple the original cost. Consequently, I advise against engaging with this eBay seller.

Thank you. As I mentioned, he refunded the posted Bankhead and told me to keep it. Very unusual. I have been watching him/them for a long time.

I appreciate the response. Do you have an opinion of the Van Damm Bankhead above? I am in the minority right now. I was floored he did not want it back.

Don't be - I have been saying this for some time about this piece.. You are perhaps the first to agree. Even those with "classic" experience found this genuine...I did not. Thank you.

This is true. Same piece here. Just different lighting conditions.
I'd certainly recommend checking recent completed listings of any name you might be interested in to get a more complete picture of possible value.

Thanks for the replies. You might find it interesting to know that some time ago, I did buy a Barbara Stanwyck autographed 5x7 from this seller. I paid to have it examined by PSA at an autograph show later that year, and to my mild surprise, they felt it was authentic. Nonetheless, I probably won't be buying much from this seller in the future.

Sorry,. I am only 7 years too late. :-) I would avoid this seller from his emails to me about this Bankhead. You just don't cave like he did - he did not argue against my proof. Keep the item? IF you know what you are doing? I got all my $ back. And this forgery to keep. It is darn good at a glance and more. Many boxes cheeked off. Having seen several...ir is forgery. It has fooled what is called among the best. I will say 3x and that is all. Who is really irrelevant. It should not pass. I now have a Bankhead I think fine. from the film I collect to boot - Lifeboat. Never saw another that was genuine. Click and it'[s all there:
