Stephen King Signature in 1993 Paperback of The Stand – Authentication Help Needed

Hello everyone,

I recently came across a copy of The Stand: The Complete and Uncut Edition paperback, and it includes what appears to be Stephen King’s signature dated ‘93. I’m trying to determine if the signature is authentic.

From what I’ve read, this edition wasn’t officially released with a signed version, so I assume—if real—it might have been signed in person at an event.

I’ve attached high-resolution images of both the signature and the book’s cover for context. The handwriting looks consistent with other verified King signatures from the early 1990s, but I would truly appreciate input from more experienced collectors or experts here.

Thank you in advance for your time and opinions!

These are from the period (1985-1995) - all PSA and all quite typical from what I know:

I would pass on the OP. Slow, shaky, drawn. Numerals. Formations, slants, etc. Style. Note the rapidity in three other examples and surety of construction. Forgery to me.

It looks like a bad forgery to me.

Agree

I too agree. This is a bad fake, unfortunately.
