From talking with another member about trading autographs, we thought maybe it would be cool to have one place here where we can all post up stuff we have for trade or sale that we could all update our collections by.  As long as everyone post up a clear pic of the signatures and a good description, then this could be epic!

Moderator Comments:
This is a great idea! Try it out in this discussion,
and then we'll set up a special forum category
once we work out the kinks.

Authenticity:
Please do your best to make sure your autographs are genuine BEFORE you post them here. Ask for opinions in the appropriate forum here, such as http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/categories/what-do-you-thin...

If you see something here that's a likely forgery, reply with your opinion and contact the forum moderator.

Thanks...and good luck!

but there are some authentic GAI, ect.  So we dont wanna kick out any potentially good autos just because they are unfortunate enough to have a label.  I think the "in person" being cleared idea is a great one and I think has been addressed. I think it falls under the rule Steve already made of making sure your autographs are genuine before you post them.  I think if an autograph is questioned by a standing active member here then the sale or trade of it here should be suspended, and then it goes for an authentication discussion.  We need to come up with a firm rule to strongly encourage people to have their pieces checked out before they post them here.  and sad to have to say this, but we need to make sure that any potential forgers know to stay clear because they WILL be exposed if they try to post bad items here.  what do you think of that?

Also, I would like to eliminate the posts to external links of items for sale.  be it on ebay or an auction site.  The whole point of having this here is to attract people here and stimulate trade among members to grow our collections.  Also for it to be a safe place to conduct trading.

This is all up for discussion by all of you who wish to use it.  I dont want this to be about only what I think.  CEE GEE was a big part in the forming of this buy & trade forum too.  So this isnt just a david jackson thang, lol.  lets all make it work together.

Definitely remove external links... This forum allows pictures to be posted. I might say we can still allow Craigslist, due to the nature of it, but any auction sites should be a no-no.
Sounds good! I'll post the Bonds and Beckett to that forum, if you're interested! I'd also be careful about designating people as forgers...msome of us might buy a bad item and unknowingly try to sell it, believing it as genuine. If its all in the same pen, that's another story!

Thanks.  Yeah, I got a GW bush through TTM and I thought it was legit, but sadly it was an auto pen.  I found out thanks to another member.

And... Perhaps we can take this in another thread... But are there authentic ACE's? Or do we not trust Priddy here at all?

I honestly dont know.  Im still learning in that area.

I participate on a number of message boards for many years. Here are a few rules that are standard on other message board selling forums. Most of these revolve around common sense and polite behavior.

* Must show a clear and large image of the item

* If it is an item for sale, there must be a price. No "make me an offer" only. You could say "$99 or make me an offer," but there must be a price... not JUST offer.

* No linking to offsite auctions unless there is a special perk for forum members, e.g., free shipping or additional discount for forum members. The forum should not be an advertising vehicle for someone's auctions elsewhere.

No dumping on other peoples listings, which means

* No criticizing prices

* No criticizing items for issues not related to authenticity, e.g., "That celebrity is common and I don't understand why anyone would want it."

* If authenticity is a concern, it should be addressed via PM first. If the issue is not resolved, then contact a forum moderator.

good stuff Mr Zipper!

Agreed!

I dont know that anyone would be interested in these but they have been in an old box in my parents house for some time. I believe their real but dont remember how i got them or where they came from. I also have several that i have been able to acquire myself, not in person, but through trade, purchase, etc.

The ones i collected myself are: Moses Malone, Bobby Hurley, Steve Young, Hal Morris, Sandy Alomar Jr., Wade Boggs, and Terry Labonte. Kal Daniels, Reggie Miller

The ones i recently found include cards primarily from the 1980s. These include: Dave Hamilton, Eric Bell, Jim Bibby, Ron Darling, Steve Garvey,  Terry Steinbach, Eric Bell

I also have the following unsigned items that are older cards from the 1980s: 1980 Brewers team shot card, Dickie Thon, Gary Thurman, Tommy John, Lee Tunnell, and Bobby Thigpen

Since their are quite a few im not going to put up scans here yet. If anyone shows any interest just leave a reply stating that you want to see them and ill put a scan up.

Thanks

Chris
