Alec Guinness Authentic?

Can anyone tell me if this Alec Guinness is authentic? I bought it off a UACC/AFTAL dealer in the UK. Thanks for the help.

That is a beautiful piece. Did he sign it in purple or is it a faded black? Also, what are the dimensions? Very nice.

Here are two I got TTM from Sir Alec in 1999. Relatively small and "tight" signatures. Although, I suspect at his advanced age, the signature became a tiny bit shaky and looser than examples signed earlier. (To my knowledge, I am not aware of a secretary signing for him.)

Here is one I purchased from a collection of autographs obtained TTM in the 80s/early 90s. Small, tight, and a bit smoother than the 1999 examples above. Although, the different pen type may also account for the more smooth appearance of the example below.

The bottom example is what I am used to seeing from Sir Alec for most of his career through the 1970s. It is probable that his signature did get looser as he aged which may account for a more oval shape in the "A". Perhaps the example at the top of the page was signed in the late 1980s. Most of the older examples that I have seen are usually signed in black.

Over the years I have seen a number signed with the copper colored rollerball (like my 1999 examples). When I wrote in 1999, he had stopped signing most requests, but a friend gave me "hint" to get a favorable response. I was thrilled to get the envelope back.

LOL. The trick was a) don't ask about Star Wars... mention his earlier films, and b) buy UK postage and put it on the return envelope. He didn't want to bother with cash or international reply coupons.
