Marlon Brando Autograph
Hello everyone.
I have a Marlon Brando baseball autographed. I have had it for a long time and got it from a friend that I helped out financially and he couldn't repay me. Does anyone know if this is a real signature? Just curios about that and what the value might be if it's real. Thanks for your help.

ok, now ive seen more exemplars id say the baseball is not authentic, the "do" is completely wrong and the "B" loops over at the bottom where as the baseball dont. the "do" is not even joined, if it was just based on the marlon, it could fool some people.

My concern with the “B” was that it was not signed in one stroke but two. Like I said, I have seen examples of him signing that way so it wasn’t a great concern. The “B” on the baseball appears to be similar to Ted’s. I also believe that the “do” stacks up in a similar way to Steve’s. I’m not an expert but I am also not willing to give up on this yet. The biggest question that I have is this. Why would a forger sign Brando’s name on a 1979 World Series baseball? Wouldn’t it make more sense to forge a Streetcar Named Desire or On the Waterfront or even a Godfather photo? Adam, do you have any information about where this item came from? Is there any way to still contact your friend and ask about it?

look more closely at the "do" its not joined in one motion, its separate from the "Bran" , the "do" the has 2 ink pools one at the end of the loop on the "d" and one half way through the "o", the ball is not a fluid signature, i do agrree with you that brando has signed similar to the ball but all his signatures are of a constant fluid motion not with pauses in and from history it shows brando was not the type to take time with signing anything.

Thanks Paul. I see it now. I wasn't concerned about the "do" being separated because there are many exemplars that show him doing that but the "o" is without a doubt suspicious. I can think of no explanation for it.

Sorry to say that IMHO the signature is not real.
If you go to www.isitreal.com and go to the movie category
and look up Brando you will see a very good Signature Study on his signature which should help you out in the future,

Its the baseball itself that has me questioning it. Long time collectors I know in NYC tell me of stories where it was very hard to get Brando, but occassionally he did sign things like receipts, pieces of paper, napkins, etc. for working people he was dealing with. Hard to believe someone got him on a baseball. I never got him, so I dont know his signature. I'm just going by stories I've heard.

I'm not sure, the ball looks like it was used. Not saying it's a game ball but looks like it was either used in a game or made to look that way. So far the conciseness is that it's not authentic. Does anyone know whether he attended the game?
