Saw this set up for auction. Not a recognised specialist auction house or a very high estimate but they don't look too bad to me, Maybe the George is a bit laboured. Any views?

They look really good to me.

most likely authentic

i like it, good as gold.

I like 'em...

I think they're good, too. What's the story?

Hi Steve, not much of a story I'm afraid. The item description gives no details as to where and for whom the item was signed. The signatures are on the back of a fairly run-of-the-mill publicity postcard/photograph (see attached). I don't get wildly excited about autographs that are on plain paper/card but as the estimate is only £500 - £600 and the signatures are nice and clear I may well have a speculative pop. That said, I doubt it'll go for a song.

500 to 600 estimate who are giving these away?

Well I was the underbidder at £3,500 so obviously the consensus was that they were genuine. When the opening bid started at £350 I started to salivate but my mouth was soon dry again. Had the autographs been on the photo side I imagine £5000 would have been more like it price-wise. Thanks for all your input - I already have one definitely dud and another possibly dud set that I bought way back in pre-internet days (but at a specialist auction house) so I'd rather be careful.

A nice set, they were sold in the room !

Great one
