On December 2, Julien's Auctions is selling The Collection of Tompkins and Bush. The collection contains 465 lots of Michael Jackson memorabilia, 287 of them autographed.

Michael Bush and the late Dennis Tompkins were Michael Jackson's costume designers for 25 years, during Jackson's most successful period. They were the consignors of the signed Thriller jacket that Julien's sold for $1,800,000 in June 2011.

Almost all of the autographs in the Tompkins and Bush sale are a variation I'm not familiar with. I've only been looking at Jackson's autograph for a few years, though, and we have members here who have collected him for decades, so I'd appreciate your input and exemplars.

If you know Michael Jackson's autograph well, please look at a few images below from the auction and let me know what you think. Even better, browse the auction and upload any similar examples you have: http://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/77/

Julien's is the world's premier auction house for Michael Jackson memorabilia, so they would know his autograph better than most of us. I'm just surprised I haven't seen this style before.

Thanks for your help.

diff coats, one is signed on the sleeve in black marker, and one is signed on the Peter Pan... so again must be 2 of.  I looked closely at them both and some of the little divits are not placed in the same spot--look to the upper right side of the feathers, as well as some subtle little differences.

One belonging to Tompkins the other Bush??

A Superbowl seat cushion from that same sale in the "Bush Jackson" style:

Steve,

You are one step ahead of me.  YOu have gotten all the links I was going to refer you to.  But we are on to something.  GOod work!

Hey Prashant,

Great job on your part! And Agustin deserves a HUGE thanks from all of us for finding the first one!

I searched the Icons auction from Dec. 1 but not the earlier ones. Prashant, if you--or anyone else--would be kind enough check prior sales over the next few days that would be great.

this one came up as the Superbowl cushion too.  Just thought you might want to correct it if you have the right link.

So Bush's big mistake was scribbling on the iconic clothes and selling them all at once. If he'd continued to drip-feed the market he might have gotten away with it a lot longer.

I posted links to my facebook album which has this and some others in it before. This is what Ive been saying all along. That the same signature has gone through Juliens before. I guess no one paid attention to my posts. It would be beneficial to find out who consigned these. It sure seems like they figured no one said anything before so they thought it was a free ride.

I had read some of your post......Sure seems like you were on this early! LOL

This could work out well for Julien's and Bush. All they need to do is ask the consignors of the items we think Bush signed to come forward and explain how they got them, etc. If they can be clearly traced back to Michael Jackson, then that's evidence in their favor.
