So, if I'm following correctly, the JSA Basic Cert is basically the "we don't want to pay much attention to this but here's your sticker anyway" type of authentication.  I stumbled upon this last night.  It's a mess.  It doesn't even really look rushed - just bad.  I'm trying to see what JSA was looking at here that would prompt them to give this a pass.  I'm not seeing it.  Bono has given more than his share of ugly/bizarre autographs in the past, but if it doesn't clearly exhibit his standard signing traits, you're authenticating it based on what?

LOL. Utter contempt for the people she is signing for. If you can't do a job right, don't bother doing it at all. At least it was only a cheap China ball she ruined.

at least she signed it... people like that i bring cheeseburger wrappers to get em on!!!

I hear Psa is getting tough on those type of signatures. I heard they wont do Pacino , Beiber, Jennifer Lawrence. They also wouldnt do any of the Stallones he signed at the Expendables 2 premiere in Los Angeles.

And they shouldn't. How can you authenticate a scribble that can be easily imitated? I always assumed many of these scribbles get the okay because the TPA knows and trusts the source. Not that I think that's a great idea, but it's probably better than the alternative, which is they are actually "authenticating" a scribble and pronouncing it authentic. Yikes.

theres zero to go on to "authenticate" that Meg Ryan or Stallone! "authenticating" them is a joke.

Lex, The Stallone was turned down by psa. They wouldnt authenticate it . It is authentic though .

I dont doubt its authentic... i know nothing on Stallone.. I was just saying there isnt much there to really make a determination... Good to see ya back!

I think the Source was the main reason.

Anthony, if you mean they gave it a pass based solely on a source they trust, I don't believe that is proper third-party authentication.  It should be a determination based solely on the signature alone.  If you can't authenticate it based on this, I don't think they should.  Determining who is and isn't a credible collector/dealer something I can do on my own, for free. PSA shouldn't be paid for something they put zero effort into.

Agreed. But what happens when you sell it with  your own coa. Then psa turns it down.

Its a messed up situation . Espcially if you are a credible source for autographs.

Anthony, did you get those Bonos yourself?

No Steve. U2's fan base keeps track of where each Member of the band signs and so on . Its a pretty good website for U2 autograph buyers. I am certain the autographs are authentic , but am only going off there database. Ive seen worse autographs than this Bono signed before. Ive seen him sign only a B . But anyhow , here is the website if anyone is intersted.
