I definitely don't want to make people feel uncomfortable posting, we are all obviously here to help others out. 

When new members post asking for opinions/general questions, I always give them a respectful answer. However when new people come on here and disrespect us/legally threaten us/yell at us in all CAPs/make fools of themselves, I agree with Terrier that we should be able to put them in their place. If we don't want it getting to that point, then the threads need to be locked right when any hostility starts.

With bigbebo, I tried explaining, I took time to post several authentic exemplars, and all I got back was typical rants that we aren't "pros", don't know anything, can't prove it, are defaming their character, and hope we're ready for legal action. If someone is here just to stir up a threatening argument, they need to be removed.

The problem with being locked right when any hostility starts is, we don't always SEE everything the minute it happens.  Sometimes we're here for it, sometimes not.  As soon as I came in yesterday (or was it the day before) you hit me up via IM with the Bigbebo guy stuff and I took care of it right away.  In fact if you remember, I locked down the wrong thread because the guy jumped threads and started hassling folks on another one.  The other thing we do before removing is get all the information about a person and that can take a few minutes (IP, email address, location etc).  And do a few screen shots.  But it can't always be locked down the minute hostility starts..... we're here a lot but we do walk away from it too - ya know, like having a life.  :)

I try to check in every hour or two...  sometimes I can't do that though.  I've also been letting Steve know when I can't, so he can check in.  Best we can do.
