What are your thoughts of this "M"?

Jason D that is a forgery.

Correct Erich, both balls are forgeries.

This might make it easier. Compare the "M"

in my opinion, the same exact thing m wise. the "droop" thats in yours is because the auto is offset. mine is somewhat closer in the middle than the other is, which may be several mms shifted downward. and in both the a is crammed into the m, so i think if yours is real mine might actually be so as well. the difference resides more in the r. ive seen both types, the one you have and mine pass. mine is a little rushed, so its weird looking but the guys have agreed that mo has been signing like this within the past few years take a gander at this one attached, PSA authenticated. it features elements of both.

Again i appreciate all the help. Im just trying to play devils advocate.

Ok, so we both agree that the "M" look identical. The bad news is the one I posted is a forgery currently listed on ebay "authenticated" by ACE with an ebay banned coa/authentication company. I did look at the PSA ball and although the photo is real small and I can not see it to well I can almost assure you that the ball you have is not authentic. They were signed by the same person and I doubt it was Mariano Rivera. Forgers of Rivera are trying to perfect his signature but clearly can not. Here is a link to the ACE Mariano.  (http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARIANO-RIVERA-SIGNED-BASEBALL-W-COA-AND-CA...

Yeah Jason I gotta agree with you here. My opinion is slightly changing from sloppy authentic to unsure/forgery.

Mike, Whoever is attempting these Mariano signatures is getting a little better with the (ariano and ivera) but they can not seem to get the M and the R right. It is possible that if they can perfect that M and R there will be a ton of these getting by some of the best eyes around.

Agreed. The forger who did the Riveras with the R------ (R and straight line) is getting better and adding more detail to the signature. But the M and R are his fingerprint. He can't get them right.

Here is another with a banned ebay coa. Same "M"? This one is for sale by ebay forgery seller flapjack930 . If you love this ball you'll love the other ACE items for sale.

is this a supposed rushed Rivera?

Yes, that is his rushed signature. The "M" and the "R" are always the same as his full signature its just a shorter version. His rushed is either Ma---- Ri----   or Mar---- Riv----. The one thing that never changes is the "M" and the "R" and the forgers can not get that right so that's the dead giveaway. It is very rare that Mo rushes his signature that why they are so far and few between but for every hundred or so that he signs there is 1 rushed.
