Just spotted this beauty in RR
What a gorgeous set!
First Help! album I have seen
A question to all autograph collectors out there
If you are buying a set of signatures
Do personal dedications put you off?
My friend says the Help is nice but the personal dedication puts him off.
How can we all be so picky and choosey when it comes to rare signed items that you might never see again.

I think it does give it extra dimension and something more unique!

it never puts me off, it gives some background/history to follow up on

I'm not put off by dedications myself to be honest like some have stated it adds some story and history and I can't understand why some collector/dealers have dedications professionally removed I think it's sacrilege to remove and play about with a piece.

In the past I've come across quite a few collectors like my friend who just don't seem to like dedications.
My point is if it's a rare signed item missing from there collection and they are wanting to collect all the signed Beatles albums available and say there are only 3 or 4 genuine of this LP in existence, Can they really afford to pass on it
Would they rather do without for the sake of a dedication
I know Beatles autographs are pretty common especially on autograph book pages, paper etc but some of the later LP titles signed are very rare and might not surface again

It's great...if your name is Chris. Some like it...and others don't.

Randy,

Many see personalization as desirable on vintage memorabilia. Particularly so when it's inscribed to someone related to the history of the subjects, as in this case.

I like that album a lot.

I'll add to this too, though I only study Michael Jackson's.  I like when Michaels auto's have extra wording/inscriptions etc. personalized or not.  There have been some really REALLY good fakes out there on just his name.  When the piece has more on it to look at, it gets harder to fake, as his handwriting cannot be copied at all (people try - but they can't).

I like extra comments and details but avoid personalisations for my personal collection. This is a nice set though

I would love to own a piece like this
unfortunately it's starting to go well above my spending budget

Also, if you've followed some of the most notorious forgers, they never take the extra risk of adding an inscription.

BTW, I picked this up recently. Acquired in person in March 1963.  Certified by Roger.
