Hello :)
I just signed up because I'm not an autograph dealer, but got a collection of autographs that were sort of included as a bonus with a collection of about 8000 movie stills. I bought it all from a respected estate sale company in Columbus, Ohio. The only provenance they were able to give is the collection belonged to a man who at some point was involved in the industry and did at least some directing. The family refused the sale organizers permission to give his name as they did not wish to be contacted by buyers.
Anyway, I wanted to sell the autographs on ebay and I really don't want to stick anyone with something fake (I want to sell the stills as well, but that's not why I'm posting). I truly would rather throw away an obvious fake than make money from it. In fact in the collection is a cast signed "Tender Trap" picture that I do intend to sell, but I discovered (through R&R) that the Frank Sinatra signature is a clear secretarial and I will blatantly identify it as that (assuming the other signatures on the picture can pass). I tried to utilize the PSA/DNA quick opinion, but I was told they do not offer that service to sellers - they only offer the full authentication service which I cannot afford.
I don't know what is acceptable and what isn't on these boards - I have probably 20 things to verify - all individual signatures except for a cast signed Sopranos script (and the above mentioned cast photo). I am happy to trade a fair item (autograph or stills) for the opinion of anyone knowledgeable on the items. I am almost certain there is a mix of fakes and genuine within the collection. After days of combing the internet, several strike me both ways. But with little autograph experience, I can't be sure either way.
Any thoughts or takers on my trade offer would be greatly appreciated. I am also open to fair offers on any item determined to be genuine.
Many thanks,
Roscoe Plikerd

Hey Roscoe,
Post some pictures of the items and there will be people on here with opinions.
I'll give it a go then :-) I will try to offer something in return.
1&2) Sopranos cast signed script front and back. I have close-ups available of any of the signatures if needed.
3) George Lucas signed script (clearly not an original script, but one apparently printed for perhaps - if the signature is legit - a known signing opportunity in more recent years).
More:
4) Close up of George Lucas from last post
5&6) Stan Lee signed script. Again, not an original script, but one printed for a signing. The script, by the way, is the unproduced story featuring Professor Ock reportedly written by James Cameron.
More (close ups available for all)
- Woody Allen
- Oliver Stone
- Joe Pesci
In my opinion, The Stan Lee signed script is authentic.
Thank you, Steve - and thank you William. Oh, for you and anyone else...
***** I will make no mention of your name or this website in my sale listings. For those that pass the test, I would at most state something like "I posted these on an autograph chat board for scrutiny where they were favorably judged based on scans."
Stan Lee looks perfect.
George Lucas is a forgery as are all the Sopranos signatures.
Woody, Oli and Joe do not match anything I have ever gotten from them.
I agree with Pete on the Woody Allen and the Soprano's scripts that they are not genuine. There is a really good Woody Allen discussion on this site, which offers some invaluable ways of spotting a genuine Woody. Although this is close, it just feels off, Just my opinion though.

I'm truly grateful for everyone's time and opinions - whether it's for or against something being authentic.
The sorpranos IMO was signed by a female. All of the signatures.
Hi there. Out of interest are there specific features that enable you to think that a female rather than a male signed all of them? If you had thought that a male had signed them all would they have different characteristics?
No its more the feel of the piece. Over my time collecting and studying I have noticed some females have a certain style men never have. Its more flowing for a lack of better terms "prettier". This piece even the guys have that flow. Of course I have been wrong in the past but I feel pretty confident with this piece.
