Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')
I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures' or 'Disney characters'.
Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

SO AT THE END OF ALL THIS. Washcher is incorrect. Epperson has issued a lot of coa's. Epperson is an expert and one of the best in his field. He isn't going to be saying he got it wrong, and if he is, he should have said it by now.

Hi - approx 2/3's of the recent drawings showing up, have the similar characteristics to what I pointed out (I didn't include every drawing I've looked at, as there are quite a few). I'm unsure what to make of all of it to be honest. Does this mean he never signed like this? No--I couldn't possibly say that. But I have 100's of exemplars and in all of my exemplars, I didn't find anything like this. I also want to reiterate, I am NOT an authenticator - I'm just pointing out something I personally noticed on these
STATEMENT FROM WASCHER. This is where you should have stopped. That's right you aren't an expert.

Was it not determined in this thread that Roger Epperson was wrong on many of these? I am not sure if he personally has commented on it. I know when these were being questioned in earnest (beginning in December I believe) was about the time Roger stopped participating on this site. Does my memory serve me correctly?

Determined by you. In your early post of December YOU SAID YOU WEREN'T AN EXPERT!! Correct me if I am wrong. But Roger is an expert and he hasn't said they are wrong.
Anyway as we keep saying this is someone's opinion. You can't get someone to say anything is 100% right.

I give credit to the Simon Parr representative coming here and expressing their view. Without the issuer of the COA rescinding said certification Parr can sell the items as certified and buyer beware. Do I like that method of doing business? No. They have to do what they are comfortable.
I certainly disagree with the Parr representative downplaying the value of AML members and their contribution to this discussion. Several here, Wascher and Ballroom come to mind, post their opinions and back them up with examples and proof. I can understand a company not pulling items due to uninformed collectors complaining but several on this site are much more than that. There is no set criteria for autograph authenticators to become an "expert" but several here have the experience, skill, and good judgment to have that title.

Beatles was already pulled before the non expert Ballroom mentioned it. That's cause it looked similar to another one that is on google. However no one knows which one is right as it is just an opinion. I'm putting experts like Epperson and PSA/DNA above people on this site as they are paid experts. And you all must get sick of the same arugments day in day out. You all repeat yourselves every single day. It's like a cult. I do respect everyone's opinions. But the best thing I'd like to see on this site is an item shown with a PSA DNA coa, then prove it was then turned down etc etc after.

+1 except David from Simon Parr appears to have disdain for collectors as he rather us use our funds to feed the poor (I hope Simon Parr uses there percentage they receive for the same) he gladly hides behind a COA because as long as you have one how can a non "expert" question it unless the issuer says they have made a mistake! So it doesn't matter whether they are selling forgeries or not because someone signed off on it. To me, his attitude reads volumes to how little he cares for truth and will continue to just go round in circles. Best way to affect a business is with your wallets and continue to do your own research. I thank the members of AML for the ground work some of the members do here.

I am David, and I don't have disdain for collectors. I just think its sad personally. A piece of paper signed by Paul McCartney where someone will pay a lot of money for or they could be helping the poor. No matter what we say people will still buy. The owner of the Body Shop said their products have no benefit at all to ones well being, and they still sell, she didn't believe in selling their products. Each to their own what to buy etc but when you see people that can't afford to live, poor beyond means, and your sitting there with your framed Beatles signed lp, it is a sad world. Not just autographs it could be a really expensive car or anything. It does more good to help poor people. We only care that wages are paid, and customers are happy nothing else, we aren't there to become greedy people. We don't forecast more money every single year. We have kept it simple. If it is exciting for you to own a framed Beatles autograph and see people outside that can't afford to live then good for you.
It matters to us if someone believes something isn't real, but we go with what the expert says.
