I'm a vintage Hollywood collector and these newer stars are much harder to authenticate. I'm trying to learn. Hopefully this old dog can learn some new tricks.
Mike T. I'm more in your mind set. I collect vintage 30's - 40's signatures primarily and have never spent over $500 for any individual autograph. That's my ceiling. Barring Disney and Bogart, I've gotten or had opportunities to pick up all the others multiple times. Just need to get comfortable identifying some of these newer celebs so I can pull the trigger when the opportunity presents itself. It's easy to get burned.
It's the rush you get when you secure a great signature I enjoy. Almost nothing compares to it. I wouldn't trade autograph collecting to any other hobby in the world.
Close only works in horseshoes and hand grenades my friend.
Think I may put a couple of offers on the Press Pass ones you linked and call it a day. Thanks for everyone's input. Happy New Year to all.
"I got a bad feeling about this..."
Im not a PressPass fan,the VIP (John Brennan) one I like. You could make him an offer to get the price down. You can always wait and save a little more. There are a lot of good Fords out there including another signing coming up but they wont be cheap.
Yes, I know they don't come cheaply unless I get real lucky. I'm hoping to purchase a good Star Wars and an Indy for $500 to $600 max. I am be out of my mind but maybe just need to back off for a week or two and try to find something that fits the bill. Thanks Ian. Great to have so much knowledge shared.
