Here's a signed poster that I'm sure most of you guys have already seen.It was sold on rr a while back and more recently on iconic. The first picture is of the piece in its original untouched condition.the second picture is of the same piece with major restoration work to it.The owner was asking me if I was Interested in buying it.With that kind of work done to a piece such as this, should I totally pass on it.How much can this effect the value?

Hi Pete,

The last loop in "Paul" is different. No longer a single line. Left arrows points to a jagged new jagged edge. The shadow leave me speechless at the bottom. The removal of the doddle is a "crime" as far as I can see.

Eric

The loop is quite obvious, I don't know why that line is suddenly fuzzy also. There is 3 other maccas on it that don't looked touched.again maybe that's why the bargain price.I have to call Jason In the morning about another topic anyway.Im really gonna ask him about all these little points.
It almost looks like when they removed the tape, they missed putting the loop back together in the exact place it should of been.Sort of shifted to the right.

Scans shows enough IMO.

And the question of stability as well.

E

I would definitely take a shot. Tracks is as good as it gets.
I agree with you Eric,i see all the touch ups you pointed out on the signatures.
I'm so confused.Had Jason not called me personally to rehash this whole thing,I would not be talkin about it again. The alluring part of it is the price. It is still around 7k but unless I'm wrong which I don't think I am,an album page goes anywhere from 4 to 7-8k ,in my mind I'm thinking...
#1 a color poster.(anything signed in color is very rare)
#2 The price is very very fair.(comparing to what an album page goes for)
#3 Tracks is backing it with a return guarantee.
#4 the nice size of it 12x16.
#5 imo the fact that Macca signed it 4 times makes it pretty unique and finally
#6 John did dedicate it to Paul.My name happens to be Paul.
These points do not mean I'm buying it,like I said I'm confused about this dam piece all over again and I'm lookin for help.

"The sweetness of good price is quickly replaced by the lingering aftertaste of unhappiness and a problem you can never ignore." When in doubt, don't. It is, in my opinion and others here, a problem item. None of the things you just mentioned address the enhanced signatures. W/o that - what have you? It is the first thing that will be raised - "this are enhanced"...

Eric

Sounds like you really want it buddy. The balls in your court ,offer him less than what he is asking. Even if they are reading this, nobody else is banging down their door.

Paul,

Ask Jason about the things Eric pointed out. I think that if you like the poster, you should buy it with the return privilege and see how well you like it when you have it in your hands.

If it hadn't been restored I think it would sell for 2 1/2 to 3 times the price you'd be paying, if not more. And man, it'll look great on your wall.
Steve,I'm going to Absolutly bring up all of the resto points Eric is showing.Still can't believe it was restored.Going to ask him Why???
This piece would look great on anybody's wall for sure.
He is such a nice guy ,he's actually the one that offered the no questions asked return policy ,I didn't need to even bring it up.You really need to see it personally to make a decision.

I am in agreement with Eric  there is definitely the appearance that some parts of the signature has had something done.  This may not have been considered by the "restorer" as important so Jason might not have been told.  Knowing his reputation I am certain he would tell you if he knew.  While I am a purist and despise "restorations" that is merely my standard.   That being said it sounds like this is goring to drive you crazy unless you see it in person.  If I bought I would do so because I really loved the piece.

I don't know what I want anymore with this one Ian,like Steve said I have nothing to lose.Like Eric said some sigs have been played with .Need to talk to Jason in the morning.

Sleep on it. The balls in the buyers court. Pauls not gonna be around forever.
