Paid for the PSA quick peek and it came back "Likely not authentic" but they don't say why they think that.

Ian, could you please link to or place that post here so we can see?

I seriously doubt that a business that sold basically 100% fakes, has a sister company that is legitimate. Questionable autographs is an understatement.

He made the comments in Andy Luks Star Wars group . It was a while ago, he said nothing in particular except that something might be coming out in the future about some questionable items. It did come from him and I don't have much else.

Found it but having trouble linking it. Steve Grad posted it Feb 29th. Maybe Steve C could link it. He mentioned that he has authenticated some of the Ford stuff and a lot of the celebrity autos seem fine but he said there might be some questionable ones but was not addressing it yet. He is well aware Gridiron is bad.

Andy's FB Star Wars group is a closed group, Ian. That's probably why neither of us can link to Grad's post.

Even if they were fakes, which after reading this post, am thinking they are...what actions, if any, am I able to take to try to get my $ back.

Well J,

I'm not sure what State you're from. First you need documentation that the items are fake. I hate to say this but here is where you need PSA or JSA. I trust them about as much as I do Gridiron but I knew Gridiron was fake.

I would then file a report with the Pennsylvania AG's office with all your documentation and support including items and date(s) bought, amounts paid etc. They will take action. I got all but around $200 (out of over $2,000) of my money back but that was on me because I got tired of chasing.

Their office has a file on them because of me and another member who filed a complaint so it might not be as bad for you.

Good Luck,

let me know if you need any more info.

Charlie.

Hi Charlie-
Thanks for the info. How long ago did you file your claim and get your $ back? Part of me is terrified at spending $$$ with JSA and/or PSA on 26 items (+ shipping - I'm from Hawaii so it'll be costly just to ship) with the "chance" that I'll recover some $.
Please add some photo's of what you have. gridiron was very consistent with their fake signatures. The Bart Starr, Joe Namath, Roger Staubach, Barry Sanders, Terry Bradshaw, etc, signatures were very consistent and easy to tell not only if they are good/bad, but also if they are from them.

I filed my claim last year and started getting my money back the same year.

I agree with you about JSA and PSA but you will need some documentation to prove your point.

I bought 28 items from them. One had a Tri-Star Hologram that checked out on Tri-Stars site so I kept it, 2 others I added several autographs to it so I figured what the heck I'd eat those.

I didn't send anything back until I had the AG's office coordinating things with me. I sent everything via certified mail and took pictures of everything in each box and sent the AG copies for his file.

I ended up being out of pocked my PSA & shipping fees but that's because the whole damn thing was taking up way too much of my time and I gave up. But I did get $2,000 back!

I would do it and don't say what the heck like I did. Go for every last dime!!

Can't go into too much detail but believe me, with the research I and Baston who was also screwed by them did, this guy and his family should be in jail. The whole trail spells well organized and smart crooks.

It may have been me who filed the original report. Definitely follow through with it.

Here are some of the GA gems I have accumulated over the years.  Feel free to assess.  Don't sugar coat it...it is what it is.

On another note, what is the general consensus regarding player holograms...buy or stay away?

Thanks,

J
