Remember this Paul McCartney signature we had a discussion about? Ebay removed the original listing as a forgery. Well, I submitted it to Roger Epperson and he issued a LOA on it. I relisted it on ebay and they just removed it again! Guess I now own a Paul McCartney that will be tainted no matter what. Another life lesson learned the hard way.

Given the fact that I know the seller and trust him 100% and that Roger issued a LOA = Genuine!!

That's how I see it!

I understand your point Cogo. I am no longer questioning the authenticity. Just sharing an experience.

I do not even trust myself 100%. But that is not the point either.

It is what it is. Nothing more, nothing less.

No sour grapes being served here.

Follow-up. I sent an email to Roger Epperson to see if he would accept this McCartney as a consignment to his store. Or if he could recommend an alternative for consignment.

He said he did not need any more McCartney autographs at this time(which is ok). I am awaiting a follow-up on if he has any recommendations on an alternative consignment option.

I also have contacted RR Auctions to see if they are willing to accept this on consignment. Will let you all know of their response as well.

I am sharing this experience with everyone here not to condemn anyone. Just think this is an interesting experience and others may find this useful.

RR might take it as they use Epperson as expert. But be aware they charge around 30 % fees on the final bid to the seller and the buyer has to add % % as well.

Yew, I know about the fees. The market place has a right to dictate the value, win or lose. That's is fair. I am doing this as a new experience and will learn much about areas of the hobby I have never been personally involved in before. I personally find this experience quite fascinating and enlightening. Worth every penny!

You could try Perry Cox and see if he will sell it for you through his ebay store. I doubt ebay would take his posting down as a power seller plus his loa would carry weight with collectors.

Thanks Adam, that's a great suggestion and I will give this some serious consideration.

What does TRACKSUK say?  They are very accommodating and might give you a quick opinion.  Paul from this period is very tough to tell if it is authentic; the real pros seem to have no problem though.

I appreciate you suggestion, Stu. I don't think Tracks issues COAs on items not their own do they? I know they have an outstanding reputation. A quick opinion would not help me much in this situation. Sometimes a signature just has "bad karma" and this one seems to have that.

Bad karma the word, ebay canned it!

Twice!! A new low....:0(

Joe,

I think your McCartney is A-OK. Feel free to post it in the Buy/Sell/Trade group with Roger's LOA. Mention in the discription that eBay kicked it...point to this discussion and the earlier one if you want. Feel free to mention the members who think it's real, but please ask their permission first. You have my permission to say I think it's real.
