That very high resolution reproduction of your signed photo that Eric Longo just uploaded makes me worry even more about your piece. (It's for sale for $10 on eBay.)
Take it out and make sure that the signature is original and not printed in the photo. You can do that by looking at the autograph from an angle to make sure that it does not have the same glossy surface the rest of the photo has. It will be duller where the ink of the autograph should be.

Yes, I'm a little freaked out about the scan as well. If you want to send it back Nick, I'll forward your refund right away regardless. Profuse apologies if I missed it. After 30 years in the business I didn't think I could make such a mistake but based on what I am seeing, it appears that I did. Thanks for the input to all the posters here.

ok Steve, I'm gonna look but I have it the "light test" and it didn't reflect different colours or shine apart from the photo. I know there is a reproduction on ebay, thank you Steve for all your comments, truly

I received the Clapton photo from Nick yesterday and it is definitely not a reprint. I compared it to the reprint that is listed on Ebay and it is clearly a copy of this exact photo as there are blemishes on the copy that could only come from this particular photo. Just an FYI. I'll keep you all posted on the verification of the signature.

Could such a high resolution scan be readily made more than 15 years ago? Perhaps someone had access you are not aware of? What does the seller of the copy say about the source? I would interested in seeing the back of the photo paper. And yes, please post what you find about the signature - did anyone think it was good? Nicholas said he so no ink at all - perhaps you can take a flash photo and a high DPI scan we can all look at, back and front?
