Account for autograph forgeries.

As a collector of autographs, rock memorabilia, I feel that I need to allow for a percentage of forgeries that I may have purchased over my time of collecting. Well I hope to keep the percentage small, but I think it's almost impossible to have a 100 percent success rate ,not being an expert that is. Even these days people are disagreeing with tpa.

 Well that seems to be the reality for me , how about you and your collection?

it was a show in Pennsylvania it was one of those it was a phone text not an email he was charged 55 dollars I was not there was done at show... was a phone text..

was a show in Pennsylvania he text the information to me the text has been deleted.....said it was 55$ took five minutes ... was about a month ago he never returned my text so I deleted it........

Since GFA pretty much passes everything, if by chance someone actually sends them an authentic item, it's going to get passed too. But all you have to do is go on eBay and look at all the fakes that they have passed to see why GFA is held in low regard on this site.

True. Some years ago a golf autograph dealer in New Zealand heard that Christopher Morales was a great authenticator and had him authenticate his autographs, which were largely genuine. It wasn't until eBay started taking his material down because they didn't allow Morales LOAs that he learned what a Morales LOA was really a sign of.

Outside of the large forgery sellers like AtAuction that uses GFA authentications or lack thereof I don't think I've ever seen a piece sent in to them individually. Not sure they really accept items on a one by one basis. I've tried contacting them a bunch of times and never get a response.
