Hello

I was just wondering what do you good people think of this Beatles set and one of John Lennon. Thanks

beatles look fine.  lennon likely authentic, from 62 era.

I'm not sure but the beatles set looks like the kinda thing a uk seller on eBay called ruthiesully has been putting up. This seller I believe takes genuine beatles autographs and copies them onto old looking paper and tries to sell them for bargain prices. I cannot prove this but I reported them to eBay a while back (not surprisingly no action was taken) on a beatles set where I had seen the original, sadly I don't have the photos anymore on that one but here is a Lennon they sold a little while back and compare that to the second picture of the original which belonged/belongs to a member here.

Only loaded one picture annoyingly. Here is the one that ruthiesully sold (the one above is the original).

holy crap, that IS the same signature.  that explains the bargain price that one of our members paid.

There probably are a lot of these.

yes that was my first impression too

Lennon looks to be from 1962...The Beatles set looks good...is it real or a copy? Can't tell without seeing it.

Thanks everybody for your comments and advice. I am not certain if they are real or a copy, I must enquire and keep you posted. Nate that is so shocking to hear and really makes the fact that you have to be so extra careful. I guess I hadn't even thought of that just the actual visual of the autograph, cheers for the tip.

No worries. I've had a look round and found the Beatles set from that same seller. The seller rather sillily copied a rather exacting set where John had signed for Paul, which was the only reason I had remembered the original. Attached here is the set ruthiesully had for sale (as usual for them it is on old battered paper and mounted slightly cheaply).

And here is the one it was based on

Amazing Nate, well spotted... its definitely food for thought for the future. Great to have you and the rest of you all on here to advise and help. Some sellers really have no moral decency. Copying a wrong set, just shows you how much they know about Beatlea autographs. My personal favourite fake is a John Lennon signed Menlove Avenue, signed from the grave as it were. I contacted Ebay and it still stayed up and worse still somebody bought it.

I'd say they are both some kind of modern copy, maybe given a bit of treatment (tea, lemon, milk and/or heat) to give them age.  The Lennon looks plain daft - in that a perfectly good 61/62 Paul signature has been cut-off or matted out. The tea/beer ring also looks like someone is trying a bit too hard.
