In the early 1960's radio stations in the US and the UK would run contests to boost their audiences. The best and biggest prizes often secured the desired increase in listeners. And winning a signed copy of John Lennon's In His Own Write must have been at the top of the prize list. Unfortunately the signature inside the book was not always done by John. Below I have three examples of prizes given away by radio stations and a copy of Yoko 's book Grapefruit signed by John and Yoko. Two of the books (In His Own Right and A Spaniard In The Works) were signed by Mal and the last one from the UK was signed by John.

Interesting information and well researched.

Valuable info, Fab. Thanks

I was stung on a 90's artist radio station competition, everything was true but the signatures were fake, That's why no matter who it is we need to look at the signatures to determine if there real or fake. Trusted mustard!!

I didn't know about the radio station stuff but the "John" of first two images is so off even I would smell a rat.
