This looks to be forged. Whoever did it knew their styles....but the results are off. Inks also don't look vintage.
Ok, they looked pretty good to me but I just wasn't sure and I didn't want to take any chances. I really appreciate you taking time to respond to me. I guess I will pass on this one.
I'd certainly recommend passing on it. That ink is really off for the period IMHO.
Lou in particular is tricky as his long time secretary often signed for him. I have 3 promotional WHO'S ON FIRST records that Lou signed in 1957 during their last time in Vegas as a team. Each of them appears at first glance as a slightly different signature style....but all are by him.
Surviving signed photos are really hard to come by....especially in character from their films.
I'd say that one looks good, Probably early 40s...and nice and bold.
Hello again, I really hate to bother you, but it seems like you know a lot about Abbott and Costello signatures, so I was wondering if you can tell me how much do you think this signature should cost? I don't want to be taken advantage of and overpay for it. Thanks again.
I'd think probably in the $300-$350 range. I certainly don't think much above that since it's not on a photo or with Bud.
Ok, once again, thank you so much, I really appreciate your time.
