Andy Griffith and Don Knotts Forgery

Someone posted this on an Andy Griffith Facebook group. He was so proud of his Christmas gift. I respectfully told him it is a blatant forgery in order to help him. He, unbelievably, told me he didn’t care. I wished him well…..

Oh and of course it came with a great “certificate of authenticity.”

That is not even a good try on either Griffith or Knotts.  I have had eBay sellers block me for informing them (in a very polite way) of secretarial and forged examples.  Many clipped signatures of Howard McNear, Cheerio Meredith, Charles P. Thompson, Gladys Hurlbut, and others have sold on eBay.  Below are seven Howard McNear from the same source (if not seller).

Sadly, that seems to be more and more a reality these days.  There are sellers that I would have never guessed in a million years are now offering secretarial and forged items.  Either they have lost their skills at authenticating and/or their moral compass.
