Hi all,
My daughter and I started a little autograph collection after meeting a bunch of Washington Nationals players.
My friend saw that we started and mentioned he had a Mantle ball since the late 80’s/early 90’s. This originally came in a round cube with a nameplate base but it broke ages ago.
No Coa/loa, just the ball in a newer cube. Here is a pic (it’s on a Rawlings Brown)
Opinions please
Thanks,
dsd

Thumbs up.

even sideways, it's a gorgeous "Cadillac" Mantle.
Thanks all for the quick responses. I’m super excited this is in our collection. It’s going to be an XMas gift for my 8yo daughter who outpaces even my love of baseball.
We are Nationals season ticket holders, but she loves the history of the game and the legends like Mantle (she is no 7 on here softball team).
Should I bother to go to a JSA booth at a local event when they come around to get it authenticated?
Here are some pics that I thought this sub may enjoy.
Funny, on mobile, all pics are correct but desktop has sideways— sorry :-)
its a beautiful ball, and it wonderful to see your daughter share your passion for baseball. If the ball is strictly for your collection, I would not waste the money to get it authenticated and having a sticker put on it. This one is a no brainer, and requires no TPA opinion to prove it.
Great stories!
I'm not qualified to offer an opinion, but I found something you wrote intriguing. "This originally came in a round cube." I had a couple of profs years ago who would have LOVED to see that!
Lol. I didn’t even realize I wrote that. Clearly, I meant a round protective case vs an alien dimension polygon.
