Hello, I buy and sell books and ran across this book signed by Mickey Mantle and didn't even question the authenticity and then started looking around and found this website. Now I'm wondering if this is his signature, and I'm also wondering if I should send it in to be authenticated.

What do you think?

FUDD likes it too.!!!! The "c" that is pointed this way, is something that Mantle did not do every time. Forgers could never get this "c" right though they have tried many a time.

Thank You FUDD.

I have to say I feel a lot better about the signature thanks to you guys.

Thanks Again,

Jerry

Nice signature, Jerry.  As the other guys already stated, unquestionably authentic.

As you already know from the other members on here....there is no question in my mind this is good...signed with fine tip that usually is not as smooth as a ball point or sharpie...which sometimes shows up in the signature as seen in the first M and C....fantastic authentic Mantle...

This is by no means a 100% fast and true, but Mantle forgers would likely avoid using a ballpoint pen. Unlike a thick-tipped Sharpie, ballpoint does not hide flaws and details. Much harder to forge with a ballpoint.

Here is a perfect example like zipper says of someone using a sharpie to sign this insanely bad Mantle forgery in a Mantle book...notice the hesitation bleeding spots in the First M...I...and the top of the K...what junk !!!

Trace job.
