Ok come on, this Ghostbusters item is comical. How can this be explained? Dan somehow completely stopped his signature clockwise "a" that's 100% present in all his handwriting, not just signature, from as far back as the early 70s that I've researched and still is true today.. whoever forged this must have been trying to copy one of Dan's secretarial signatures and hacked it. Everything is completely off in general.
After just a very quick scan of the listings I am actually wondering if there is one single authentically-signed item in the whole collection.
I can't sleep, still up and on my phone but I can't look at this garbage anymore, stopped right after my last post. It's just not worth the effort and others are right about giving secrets away. Although I've written about Dan many times to help people avoid his ttm secretarials. His "a" is just one aspect out of many tells, as are Bill and Ernie. I'm surprised there was no Ramis to bump it up another $1000 but I guess the forger was too worried about THAT aspect causing a red flag lol... I feel it's not a problem to mention Dan's "a" on here because id hope that everyone should know that aspect by now. Even TPAs somehow let his secretarial slip and that's the easiest instant tell.. This clown is way off on everything regardless of the a...
It amazes me how someone can be willing to defend trash on here to people who know better. I don't believe this person's items or story. Just another fraud who thinks he's smarter than everyone. I think eBay feedback and lack of repercussions has gotten to his head.
This one above John Freeman.. Explain or be labeled a fraud forever
I think you're talking about The Ghostbusters kids book, which was released in 1989 in the UK only. There was a premiere for Ghostbusters 2 sometime during the mid to late summer of 1989 in London (later than the US premiere), probably at Leicester Square, where this was signed. They each generously wrote quotes from the Ghostbusters I film, implying some personal connection to the individual they were signing for. If you look at many of the items in the collection, there are personal and endearing inscriptions, showing that they knew her and were used to seeing her at these events.
The main reason most people cannot identify with these types of items is becasue, as I mentioned previously, they were signed in a relaxed setting. Unlike most signatures nowadays that come onto the market which are scribbled while catching someone outside of a hotel or getting in their car.
Thank you for taking the bate.. the other main point you should have realized, besides Dan's counter clockwise "a" in everything he writes... HES LEFT HANDED!!!!! This forgery is a complete sloppy mess and you can not be trusted
So, someone has faked Dan Aykroyd's signature on a kids book from the UK? And they got the "D" wrong? Is that what you're saying? Or was it the "A"? Whichever it is, you are not looking at the piece as a whole, which easily tells you these are real signatures. There is style, flow, spontaneity, and conviction (with no stoppage or irregular letters, etc..). It's all there. And faking handwriting is a completely different thing than attempting to fake a signature. Not to mention, the ink on these signatures is original from the time period.
Wow... You're just digging yourself a deeper grave here. Your item was written by someone's right hand. Dan is left handed. All of his "A's" are written the same as his "O's", in a full clockwise circle before continuing on. Your item is void of ALL of his traits. Of course Google is making it hard to find old handwritten letter examples, but I'll find them in time. For now, we can just use this as the first example. Dan's writing is mostly vertical, his signature tends to lean slightly left a lot, or just straight vertical. Not in your items case though. Also take note of the style in which he writes ALL of his "A's" not just in his signature. You are a liar, con man and a fraud
If it looked exactly the same, you would say it is "forged", If one letter is off, it's "fake". Either way, you will find an issue becasue you see what you want to see. You are blinded by your own self deceit.
He has never deviated from these traits in over a 50 year span, but you're saying he just happened to decide on this particular day, to write a paragraph with his right hand and be void of all his signature traits, never to do it again. You already lost this fight by miles, it amazes me you are still flailing words around trying to come up with something while we all sit back with popcorn watching what will come out of this fools mouth next
Ok, so explain this one. Notice how the "A" loops exactly like the one on the inside of the book. IMG_9415.jpg
Oh, the "forum" makes you unable to reply? I think you mean "the facts" which you have been backed into a corner with, makes you unable to reply.
