Any Tips on Removing Snug Photos from Top Loaders?

Man... I don't know how people are getting large matte finish photos into these things to begin with!    Are there any tips for removing snug fitting photos from top loaders that does not require tugging on the photo, or cutting into the blasted top loader?

Thanks!  I just got a Ed O'Neill 11x14 that I really don't want to tear up.   Top loaders are neat in my opinion - but I won't use them if I have to cram a photo into one.   It appears to me Glossy finishes are more agreeable with them.

Strange, I've kind of found the opposite true for me (I had to cut through a few top loaders a few years back as my glossy photos were similarly stuck in there). I've found that non-glossy images slide in and out more easily.

Side note - the general consensus is that the plastic top loaders, while good for shipping and perhaps temporary storage, are not ideal for long term storage due to their PVC content. Mylar and polypro is more ideal - Itoya makes many good photo storage products that are easy to find at art stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

Agree with Rich. The best way to get them out is never put them in. Toploaders are great for shipping protection, but that's it! They are made from cheap pvc plastic that will end up sticking to your photo over time. I've seen signatures literally lift right off a photo and adhere to the toploader. For 11x14s I use Mylar sleeves from Bags Unlimited.
