Hey,
Player-Direct.com advertises as the "exclusive provider of Salvador Perez autographs and memorabilia." They sell some other things on their site but their big attraction is a live signing with Perez next month.
I'm relatively new to the sports autograph world, is it common for fringe players to sign exclusive deals with small dealers? I can understand the draw of having exclusive rights to Derek Jeter or Mike Trout but Perez isn't a big draw.
Maybe this is Perez's personal venture?
Any insight would be great. I had a little trouble with the website loading earlier so don't write it off if it doesn't load.
Thanks!
-Joe
Perez re-tweeted a message from Player-Direct's twitter page about his autographs being for sale. I don't think it is a scam. Just a weird arrangement in my eyes. This could be common place though.
Mike trout signs through there also
I think MLBPAA has the exclusive rights on Trout. I think Player-Direct buys through there, because they say their items are MLB authenticated, which is MLBPAA's big draw.
