Toppix is very reliable in my opinion. It's not uncommon with IP collectors for photos and videos to be examples of signings, not the actual one, so ask them. Photos and videos of the actual item you're being offered are usual called "exact proof."

I know many of these sites, where I can say with certainty that they are fakes.

I was curious and had a look on the site quick and see a mixed bag. I do see some quick that look real in the few seconds I spent on them.. Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson.. but those are fairly easy to obtain TTM. at least they used to be. A lot of the others could be Street graphs but I never deal with those types of autographs and couldn't give advice. The Bono looks suspect to me but that info is based on what I've seen from his book and a handful of in person examples. It would take a tremendous amount of time to research every autograph

I have no idea what the history of this company is. I wouldn't think that matters anyways. Unless they have proof of every autograph they obtain, you can never trust any company 100%. Its always best to do your own research. Tell us what autographs you are thinking about and I believe the community could help you out on specific items authenticity. Its always dangerous to trust specific dealers 100%. And its probably not a good idea to ask if any company is legit. Even the best authenticators make mistakes..

It is indeed a risk to order an autograph from these types of websites.

Of course, that is also the case with CD and vinyl releases by means of the autopen or ghostwriters. I do not know if they also use this for book releases, since they are often more limited in availability.

Toppix is reliable 100%.    I used to in person collect with the owners on the streets of NYC.  No fear if you order from them

But Bono seems a bit suspicious.

Good to know that your experiences are great.

I myself remain cautious, because it could also be a copy?
I sometimes wonder where the profit for these types of sites would be. Since they have to travel to go to a famous person and the travel costs sometimes do not outweigh what they ask for an autograph except for the popular artists.

I don't really recall much experience with Toppix, though my understanding is that they've been a good in person collector/seller. I've seen my share of U2 autographs over the past 20+ years, and my honest assessment is that this falls into the "shrug" category. Based on the context, my guess would be that this just isn't a great example though authentic. I've seen enough weird variations on his street graphs throughout the years where you can't necessarily write this one off as fake. But it's not really one I'd want for even a fraction of the price they're asking.

This 100% there are many that would be hard to say are fake with certainty but even if real, I wouldn't want in my collection. But also many others I would trust. I have never put my complete trust in any one company. Greed can cause corruption and even if one person starts out with great intentions, there may be reasons why they need to switch things up for more income down the line. I think my point is that its never a good idea to blindly have faith in this hobby. Everyone should do their own research and only buy items if they are 100% comfortable with it themselves

I tried to spend a bit more time on this site today but my time is limited. I keep going back every once in a while for a few moments and am seeing a bit more i like.. Im trying to see if I can rule out anyone with certainty like Bono, but so far unable to do so. There are other bono signatures similar to this out on the market but none with provenance. All this tells me is this style exists from resellers but no proof it is actually from Bono just yet. I'll keep digging when I have time as I do find this interesting. No matter what I find, there is absolutely no way ill be looking at every autograph. All it takes is one forgery to lose all integrity though. Anyone else want to contribute just for fun?

It could even be that prints are made of it. If that were to happen then it would not even be possible to judge before purchase even if the signatures are real

Thats always a concern. Many years ago I purchased a ghostbusters cast signed photo certified by JSA for $500 that ended up being a print. I have no clue how it came to be. Was it a JSA error or was the sticker carefully switched? There are many people who would have just stuck it in their collection and forgot about it, relying on that sticker for authenticity. I ended up getting a refund after complaining like mad. I wouldn't think a company like this would ever try it but you never know. Its always the first thing I check when buying signed photos because it only takes 2 seconds to be sure it is "live" ink.

Luckily you figured it out!
How do you check if it's a real one or a copy? I sometimes have the idea that I got a copy, but I don't know how to check this exactly
