I recently bought from Skyline Signatures. As I continued my research I found their images on another website selling for $100 higher than their ebay, which also included 'make an offer'

Here are the two sites. Is this dodgy???? I'm really scared I'm being ripped off...

It looks like some pictures are on material that look like a bedspread - white and blue stripes. Exact same pics in both of these:

HollywoodMemorabilia.com mostly offers autographs on consignment, so it's not unusual to see them autographs there and somewhere else. They price them at a certain percentage over what the consignor wants. I'm not sure what, but probably at least twice what it's consigned at.

Thank you so much for your reply Steve. So does this mean their items can be for sale at the same time - on Ebay and on this other website?

I would love to know, from your experience do you think Skyline Autographs are authentic? This is the beginning of my collection and it's quite overwhelming. Thanks for your help

Georgina is new collector and wants to know about Skyline Signatures. If you've bought from them, would you let her know your experience? Thanks

Georgina, I want to tell you how happy you've made me by understanding that you need to start out collecting autographs carefully! Most people don't realize how huge a problem forgeries are until they learn the hard way.

I think that when I used consignment, I used the wrong term. Most sellers don't consign to hollywoodmemorabilia.com and their sister company, sportsmemorabilia.com. It's really a marketplace, like eBay and Amazon, and memorabilia can be for sale in multiple places at the same, as well as the seller's own website.

By Skyline Autographs, do you mean Skyline Signatures? If so, they have a great reputation, and a lot of longtime collectors buy from them. I'll ask members to comment on them, so you can get their input.

Good luck!

Thank you Steve! I appreciate this SO MUCH! Yes I've noticed how careful you need to be and really appreciate this site.

Yes I meant Skyline Signatures, thanks again, everyone here has been so helpful. I feel very relieved to have purchased from them.

Thanks again :)

Skyline Signatures - is a NYC in person dealer. Stuff looks authentic but prices are very high. Asking $1400 for Springsteen LPs with rushed signatures that I've seen sell for half that at RR Auction.

I have only heard good thing about Skyline! And he’s a member here at AML, if you friend request him via the link below he often offers a better price that way:

Second that. I've had multiple consignments with Eric at Skyline and he is not only fair in pricing but also a true professional and from my understanding he gets all his signatures personally - no hires.

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate your help :)

Hollywoodmemorabilia.com has taken the images and description from Skyline's ebay store and offers the material for sale on their website at higher prices.

Deal directly with Eric at skyline and cut out the middleman.

Yes, skyline (Eric) is an autograph collector actually out there getting autographs, his material is authentic, and I believe he is a member of this site. You may even save some money contacting him right here, instead of doing the ebay thing (seeing as ebay takes plenty of fees.)

Hollywood Memorabilia is offering their autographs without asking? I thought the dealers purposely listed with them.

My understanding is this is done in partnership between HM and the sellers.
