Yes, good point about the forgeries.  This is another example of how forgeries can bring down the value of authentic autographs.  If it were well established that this was the lone authentic example in a sea of forgeries, the value could rise almost exponentially.

interesting piece the pics look like the marker is faded or was just a shitty marker.

I think its a max plus value right now  for what hes asking and if it sells stuff comes out of the closet.

just for comparison

stevie ray vagughn sells for 13k to about 17k

johnny cash 4k to 17k

prince just sold for 28k and I would say he is rarest

Interesting that you bring up Prince because that’s right up my alley.  I mean..I’m a big Prince fan.  And I was wondering a bit about how much a Prince-signed guitar would sell for.  Of course, the value of Prince signed stuff has two major things going it.  Prince is a huge music icon, and his autograph is rare.  I have a Prince item that I think has the “potential” to increase a bit in value.  It’s a large signed poster (24x36) from his debut album “Prince For You” from 1978 I believe.  The poster itself is very rare.  My understanding is that the posters were only distributed in very limited quantities in the Minneapolis area and maybe only to radio stations.  How many of those posters still exist is pretty low I believe, and how many were signed is even lower.  Where did you see that the Prince guitar sold for $28,000?

Here’s the poster I’m talking about. It’s not mine, but it’s what I’m talking about.
