I do not have photos to share. I would be looking to authenticate this myself. I am just looking for ideas techniques.

Two items - black and white PHOTOCOPIES of photographs, older. A little water damage.

Two are signed by one individual, and the second bears an additional signature which would have been added later.

One signature is in red sharpie, and the other has a fountain pen-like signature and a blue sharpie signature.

The question is...are these signatures on a photocopy or a color photocopy?

Provenance: estate of long time collector with many good items, no doubt the signatures are real. It is just a question of, is the signature a color photocopy or a signature on a photocopy? It would be highly desirable to me if genuine. Collector is deceased, so no way to find out from them and current owner has no idea.

The woman signer died in 1985, and the photocopies do look older. Any idea for any tells on to tell if this is real or not? I do not have it currently in my possession. I saw one poster recommend a device on amazon that enlarges things 50 or 100x, and I am thinking of buying this for that purpose and examining it to see how the signature looks magnified. But are the additional tells I should look for?

The seller is a friend, and I am sure he will lend them to me to investigate, but I do not want it get my assessment wrong and miss out on a desirable item. I have little interest if just a color photocopy but high interest otherwise.

It is weird to have a photocopy signed, but it was simpler times back then, and I do have one photocopy of a photo signed that I know to be genuine.
