I have a Babe Ruth autographed ball from March 1948. It was signed by the "Babe" in Sanford, Fl. 5 months before he passed away. It was given to me about 10 years ago by a friend who has been a life long resident of Sanford. His Dad actually received the autograph. When I originally received the ball the autograph was very light, but now it seems to be fading much more. I am not a person who would buy a fake or altered autographed item, but I'm afraid this piece of history will just fade away completely. I would never give up this ball just knowing that the "Babe" even held it. But since I plan to keep as my own, I would really like to know if the autograph could be restored?
