Hello everybody,

I don't know what to think of this Ava Gardner. Said to be obtained in-person during her touring the troops of the Korean war in the fifties.

Could be a rushed version of her handwriting and sig, but I'm not sure.

What do you think?

Although I cringe at Etsy listings, it appears fine to me. Eric Longo is much much better at Hollywood than I.

Thanks Doug. Eddy has a wide grasp of vintage Hollywood, and much experience. I would show this to him for opinion. I post mine C 1970's for comparison of vintage and later examples. I once bought a 1970 pencil Gleason for $50 on Ioffer or whatever it is called, so such venues are as good as the items offered. These platforms were great, if infrequent, sources (now gone as "radioactive" items are not allowed, like eBay) for blasted roof tiles and a lot more from Hiroshima and Nagasaki at cut-rate prices. Etsy remains unclear re "radioactive" material (it is not). They won't answer. I have seen tiny fragments of tiles embedded in Lucite, but no actual artifacts at all for some years now.

Ava Gardner C. 1975:

Thanks for your thoughts, Doug and Eric!

Eddy, are you there?

KaiMi -

Apologies....I just saw this as well as your off-thread note.  I responded there as well .

I think this is fine from her.  Nice image and sentitment.  She did sign big and bold sometimes.  Looks like a fast autograph and natural.

I wouldn't be concerned about Etsy in this case.  It appears to be a one-off seller situation and not one of the many Etsy film autograph forgery stores.

As said in the note, looks good, as long as you are OK with what appears to be the damage on the right side with a gouge(?) and resultant crease/tear.

Thanks for taking the time to help me, eddy!

My pleasure, KaiMi.  Glad to help!
