I have heard now a couple of times that Babe Ruth had his own special pen. From what I understand, after the Babe retired from playing baseball, he had a special pen made for him to be used for signing autographs. Does anyone have any information about this? I was wondering what it looked like, and what the particulars were. Thanks.

Some people have no sense of humor. Some get mad when you refer to Coach's Corner as the Nazis of the Autograph industry.

Well, I was going to let it drop, and not even reply. But if you go back and read, he was intending to be sarcastic, by implying that I wasn't asking a "logical" question. And then writes, "Babe Ruth special pen? Lol." There are some people here who think they are never wrong and their opinions are untouchable. The only ones with untouchable opinions are on the Supreme Court. They may not be right, but THEIR opinions can't be challenged. Nobody HERE is infallible, however.

I'm wrong a lot of times. I have never heard of any Babe Ruth special pen. That being said, I never said or implied that was my opinion so it is the truth. Geez

How about them Royals James. I-70 series is coming again in 2014 I hope.  Cmon Cardinals its your turn.

Yes!! THIS ROYALS FAN SAYS, "GO CARDINALS!" At least until we meet in the WORLD SERIES! I seriously am rooting for the Cards. I want another I-70 Series!! That way either my favorite team or my second favorite team will win it!

I`m With ya.  I`m Diehard Cards, but it would be bittersweet either way, if the Cards can make it to the Series, and win or lose it.  Go Cardinals

I just posted a Ruth here---http://live.autographmagazine.com/forum/topics/babe-ruth-signed-pro...

What do you folks think?

In the 1930's the Diamond Point Pen Co. struck a deal with Babe Ruth to use his name and facsimile signature on a  fountain pen and mechanical pencil. The cap had a baseball on the top, and Babe's signature on the barrel. These were sold at any retailer carrying pens at the time and supposedly helped the company survive the great depression.

Seeing as Babe was kind of partnered with that company, it is possible this is the pen that is being referenced here.

All that being said.....we should really lighten up here a bit....I found Dom's response amusing, and if this place is going to ban sarcasm, I am out.

Thanks for the response. This indeed may be the answer to my apparently legitimate question which had been dismissed, at least by one, as rather ridiculous.
Well, I may have found the answer. You can find more information in the new discussion I posted.

Did someone tell a joke?  I must have missed it.  Good luck tonight James.

Hey, thanks Mike, on both counts. Looks like I may have gotten an answer to my question. And I just hope Shields is on his game tonight.
