Apologies if the answer is really simple but I am wondering how big sellers on ebay manage to get multiple copies of rare signed items bearing in mind one item per customer for signed items like Kylie at banquet record which sold  out really quickly.  Even if they are working with friends/family , all with different names and addresses there isnt time to alert  everyone.  I am just really intrigued

On the subject of Banquet has anyone had a personal signed item recently from them by Kylie?

i think a couple of people on aml did manage to get them, but i am wondering as i search on ebay how some sellers have 5 or 6 or even more that look genuine and are for sale

Hello, Michelle.

They do it using software with bots that are on the lookout for anything that contains, for example, the word “signed.” Those bots have their banking details and make the purchases (sometimes in bulk) within just milliseconds of the listings going live.

thanks for explaining that because i just dont understand why i never manage to get anything, but they also must have banking details with different addresses as well

This is not a problem that's specific to only the collectibles industry. Virtually any sector that relies on online portals for bookings/purchases is prey to this.

I used to go on camping trips every year with friends of mine, only to run into hurdles in previous years where bots would scoop all the reservations in seconds when the online reservation portal for Ontario Parks opened. An extremely frustrating situation that the government has let run unchecked for years, and typically results in bots booking up entire weeks of time at the biggest parks (i.e. Algonquin) up until they don't need it or want to use it.

When it comes to purchasing direct-to-consumer signed stuff, speed is always the name of the game, but I try to look on lesser-known bookshops/sites first if I can help it, as it's usually not as heavlly-known/heavily-trafficked.

What should be fixed is the ability for buyers to purchase 10+ copies of the same title in seconds.
