All,

A guy on another board I frequent posted up his Big three picture (Mantle, Williams and Joe D) that he had put up for sale on EBay. It has a GAI cert so I was suspicious of it. He was saying that he had put it up for sale and someone contacted him (independant person, not EBay) and told him that it was fake. Now the first thing I thought of was that one of the guys that is on here could have been the one. Just policing the forgeries. But what struck me as odd was that the same person offered to buy the photo. I was told that his EBay ID is Perch 712. Anyone know who this person is? I have included a photo of the autographs in question.

Typical set of GAI "Big Three" forgeries

Yep, mass-produced set of forgeries.

Usually "certed" by the likes of Drew Max, Ted Taylor, Stephen Rocchi (GFA), Chris Morales, GAI, etc.

Thanks guys, I was pretty sure of the authenticity of the signatures. I was also concerned about the EBayer who contacted the board member telling him it was fake and then turning around and inquiring about buying it. Does the Ebay ID ring a bell with anyone?

nope.  but the photo is definitely a forgery. and a very common one at that.  the seller might have just been trying to re-enforce the "authenticity" of his item by making up the story.
