Hi all, i just this past week purchased on eBay a signed copy of Bob Dylan's Biograph LP set from a guy in Sydney, Australia . There was no COA but the information i got from the seller was that it belonged to his dad's who used to manage a few record clubs. management at Sony gave his dad a copy that Bob signed during his visit to Australia in Feb of 1986.
I reached out to Roger Epperson for his quick opinion before i purchased and in his opinion it looks authentic to him, he said he's seen a couple others from the same period in Australia and this one matches up well..
I asked if he thought it were worth taking the gamble and he said yeah
I plan on sending it off to Roger for a full authentication sometime soon, but thought id post it here for you all to see and see what your opinions are.
thanks

I love the "Bob" part, not as thrilled by the "Dylan" part, but...I'd go with Roger if he says it looks good.
thanks Josh, yeah the "Dylan" part gave me pause when i first saw it. but after hearing from Roger and comparing it to others online i felt more comfortable about it. thanks for your opinion, its always good to hear the thoughts of others on these things
This looks good to me and a fab signature!
Thanks Richard, im extremely happy with it. ihe guy i bought it off is going to see if he can get any further info from his dad about the circumstances around it being given to him by Sony. i like to know the history of an item like this, if can.
wow nice pick up
I don’t even like Dylan and that’s an incredible acquisition. What a great image and massive bold signature. That’s a prize.
Thanks Bruce. A couple of others that I compared it to were these signatures also from 1986
the signed book above sold at RRauction recently
and this is a screenshot from the BBC documentary "Getting To Dylan" showing Bob signing an autograph for a fan during the filming of movie "Hearts of Fire" in October 1986. Unfortunately you don't get a look at the last part of the autograph.
